Terms of Service

By downloading or using Hero, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Hero is published by Sentez Inc.

1. The service

Hero uses artificial intelligence to identify sports cards from photos and to produce estimates of their market value, graded value and physical condition, along with a collection and scan history. Hero is an informational tool.

2. Estimates only — no appraisal, no grading, no offer

• All values, ranges, graded values, recent sales and insights are AI-generated estimates and may be inaccurate or out of date.
• “Recent sales (estimated)” entries are representative examples, not verified transaction records from any marketplace.
• The AI condition estimate is not a grade. Hero is not a grading company and is not affiliated with PSA, BGS, SGC or any other grading service.
• Hero does not buy, sell, broker or appraise cards, and nothing in the app is an offer or a valuation you can rely on for insurance, tax or resale purposes.
• You are solely responsible for any buying, selling, grading or insurance decision you make. Verify independently before you transact.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Hero. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use Hero with the consent of a parent or guardian who accepts these Terms.

4. Free scan and Hero Pro

Your first scan is free and shows the card's identity; value blocks are unlocked with Hero Pro. Hero Pro is an auto-renewing subscription offered on a weekly or yearly plan. Actual prices are the ones shown in the app at the time of purchase and may vary by region.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings after purchase.
• Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms; we cannot issue them directly.

5. Fair use

Hero applies reasonable per-session limits on scanning, including batch scanning, to keep the service available for everyone. We may adjust these limits or suspend accounts engaged in automated, abusive or commercial-scale use.

6. Acceptable use

• Do not upload content that is unlawful, infringing or that you do not have the right to photograph.
• Do not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, resell or redistribute Hero's outputs as a competing data service.
• Do not interfere with the app's operation, security or rate limits.

7. Intellectual property

Hero, its design, software and content are owned by Sentez Inc. Card images, player likenesses, team marks, league marks and manufacturer names remain the property of their respective owners. Hero is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any league, team, player, card manufacturer or grading company. You retain ownership of the photos you capture and grant us a limited licence to process and store them to provide the service.

8. Availability

We may modify, suspend or discontinue features at any time. AI processing depends on third-party providers, and occasional errors, downtime or failed scans may occur.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Hero is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sentez Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any financial loss arising from a buying, selling, grading or insurance decision based on Hero's estimates. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms. You may stop using Hero at any time.

12. Governing law and changes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at Sentez Inc.'s principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. We may update these Terms; continued use after an update means you accept the revised version.
